Fashion Show

That's Lili all dressed up in the costumes she got for Christmas.
Her favorite dress is Belle. Belle with all the glitter that falls off all over the entire house. sigh.
She absolutely did not like the Chinese dress. She didn't want to put it on at all.
Remember when we were in China and she absolutely did not want to wear the Chinese dress and threw a fit? What's up with that?
Oh well, anyway, since we got the hang of this video thing I'm afraid I'll probably be inundating you with video clips from now on. And now that Lili sees herself in action on the computer all she wants to do is perform, hoping she'll get another shot at stardom.

FINALLY!! I think I figured out how to upload some video! Enjoy!

This video is taking with my regular digital camera, so the quality probably isn't the best, but at least it's something!!

There are actually some of you out there that have never seen Lili in action, and believe me, it's something to behold!! :)

Christmas: Rounds 2 and 3

Christmas Eve and Meemaw and Peepaw's.
(as I'm sure you've noticed, they're pretty elusive. Usually Meemaw's the one taking the pictures.)

Obviously, this is after Christmas Eve dinner.
Just noticed the spaghetti sauce stains in the corners of Lili's mouth!

Who's the happy girl?
And always ready to eat a little more (see the tongs in her hand?)

Christmas morning at Meemaw and Peepaw's.
Lili got her very own camera!!!
And, stupid Mama left her camera at their house on Christmas Eve, so we don't have any Christmas morning pictures at our house. We did get video though. whew.

Lili with her Santa lollipop. and a ton of attitude.

Lili had a very wonderful 1st Christmas and we had a very wonderful 1st Christmas with Lili!
Do you see her shirt: "Who needs Santa when I have Grandma!"
you can say that again!
Oh, by the way, Lili got quite a few Princess and Prince dolls. EVERY Prince doll is named Fonzie. This kid has a serious Fonzie fetish!
"Aaaaaay!"

Christmas: Round One

We had Jeff's family's Christmas yesterday at our house.
Here's Jeff's sister, her husband, Jeff's mom and her beau.

Lili seems to have the hang of the whole present thing.....

Think she found something she likes!!! (what a cheeseball!)

Lili the little mama.
This is Lili and 'baby Lucy'. She is very sweet with her. She puts her to bed and covers her up and kisses her, telling her 'I loo lu'. She feeds her bottles and keeps her nice and safe.
I did notice something, though. She doesn't hold her baby and feed her, she puts her in her crib and props the bottle up with the blanket. Now, I know this isn't a big deal and maybe not even unusual. But I know that that's how they feed babies in the orphanage, they leave them in their crib and prop the bottles up. Kind of sad if you think about it.

A Christmas Miracle!!

Thank you, my little Bears!!
(OK, I know they're the "Monsters of the Midway", but to me, they're "my little Bears")
You know what they did yesterday? They beat the Green Bay Packers!! Not only did they beat them yesterday, but they've beat them BOTH times they've played them this year.
Yep, "my little Bears" handed the Packers 2 of their 3 losses this year!!
Now, that in itself is enough to make me happy, BUT!!! by winning they also put the Cowboys back in 1st place in the NFC AND!!! they gave the Cowboys home field advantage throughout they playoffs!!!!!! So now my 'boys don't need to worry about freezing in Green Bay.
Now, if only we can keep Jessica away from Texas Stadium.........................

Didn't I Tell You This Was The Scariest House on Earth?!?!?!?

OK, so after 3 years I finally realized my camera has a back light setting for taking cool pictures of Christmas trees and stuff.......

But, if you're going to pose in front of it DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT MOVE!!!!
(is this the scariest thing you've ever seen?!)

Alright, HOW LONG are these 2 going to be on vacation?!?!?!
(I think Jeff is trying to put a 'quiet spell' on them!)

And, finally, you can fill in the caption above Jeff's head!!!
'nuff said!!!
Think we're ALL a little antsy for Christmas!!

My Favorite Christmas Song Ever

Thursday, December 20, 2007

My Two Favoite Fellas (next to Jeff and Brett, of course!)

'Pinky' at the Preschool Program

Well, 'Pink-eye Stink-eye Lili' finally got to go to preschool today and they finally were able to have their Christmas program.

Lili was mildly interested at first, even though she didn't really do much.

"Yikes!.....now that I'm in front of everyone, what do I do?!"

" I know! I'll cover my ears! Why are all these people singing?"

"OK, seriously kids, it's just too loud!"
She really wasn't upset, she just covered her ears as soon as everyone started singing the song that she's inundated us with for over 2 WEEKS! whatever

Oh, yeah, now she's all interested again. It's present time!

Lili got a penguin hat, handmade by one of her teachers and a hand-knit scarf and slippers from her other teacher.

Her teacher said that she was going to make it all pink, since that's the color Lili wears so much, but she know how much she loves yellow too, so she combined the two.

HOW SWEET!

Ain't she sweet?

Her adorable pink and yellow slippers!!

Coughing and Pink Eye and Snot......Oh My!

THIS is what I get for bragging to our Social Worker that
"Lili hasn't even had a sniffle since we've been home!"

Well, Lili has (we think) pink eye (ewww!) and the common cold. Not much of a fever, about 99.0 but it's a snot fest over here.
Wanna know the WORST part? Today was "Santa's Helper" day at preschool.
Instead of the kids getting out at 11:00, they get to stay till 2:30! They get to eat lunch there and make crafts and play and sing...............................sigh.
Poor Lili. I guess it's a good thing that she doesn't even know what she's missing, but I'm so disappointed for her!
WHY OH WHY couldn't she have had this last Tues. when they didn't even have school?!
It just figures, doesn't it?
Well, I hear snucking and snorting so I guess I better go!

ewwww.......

So I'm NOT the only one!!!

I swore when I saw the Dallas debacle on Sunday that it was all Jessica Simpson's fault.
Looks like I'm not the only one who feels that way.

ROMO: GIVE UP THE BIMBO!!

"Dec. 17, 2007

Jessica Simpson should probably just back slowly away from the pom-poms.

The starlet turned up in Dallas on Sunday to watch her Cowboys beau Tony Romo take on the Philadelphia Eagles, but it seems her future as a cheerleader is about as bright as her big screen prospects ("Blonde Ambition" is reportedly heading straight to DVD, with "Major Movie Star" possibly to follow).

Jessica's prominent presence at the game has led some football fans to accuse her of jinxing Tony, who posted the worst gridiron showing of his career with three interceptions and 13 of 36 completed passes (he also bruised the thumb on his throwing hand).
Joe Simpson tries to explain to Jessica why the Zamboni won't be appearing on the football field at halftime.

The overzealous blonde, who sat with her joined-at-the-hip dad-manager-string-puller Joe Simpson in a luxury box, did her best to support her quarterback boyfriend of barely a month, shouting his name and pumping her fist while looking poutily picture-perfect in her many Fox-provided close-ups.

Not only was her hair and makeup red carpet-ready, but she was also sporting a less than subtle white Cowboys jersey adorned with Romo's number in pink.
Jess probably couldn't have foreseen that her carefully planned appearance would be used to highlight a recap reel of Romo's various off-the-mark plays, or that it would incite the ire of her fellow Texans.

The Dallas Morning News reports that as Romo was getting into his car outside the stadium Sunday night, a female fan hollered, "Worry about the game, not your girlfriend!" (OK, I was I nowhere near Dallas, but if I was, that would have so been me!)
But a Simpson source defensively tells People that it's "ridiculous" to implicate her in Tony's terrible performance, pointing out, "He played a great game on Thanksgiving and she was there."
The NFL-er's dismal pigskin showing has also prompted speculation that he suffers from performance anxiety when it comes to famous blonde flames.

According to the AP, his previous career-worst walloping took place this time last year, again at the hands of the Eagles, as his rumored girlfriend Carrie Underwood watched from the stands."

"Santa! Santa! Hohoho"

Lili's 1st official Christmas photo with "Santa! Hohoho"
We went to a candy factory/store tonight and bonus! Santa was there taking pictures with the kids. Lili was all into seeing him and went right to him and sat down. She even talked his ear off! Good thing Santa can understand all languages! (even 1/2 Chinese 1/2 English 4 1/2 year old jibber-jabber!)

"Lili I loo lu Santa Hohoho!"
(Oh, and by the way, I hope for Lili's sake that Santa did not overhear the following conversation yesterday:
Me: "Naptime when we get home."
Lili: "No"
Me: "Yes, naptime later."
Lili: "Naptime? Later?"
Me: "Yes"
Lili: "I said no!"
and, guess what? The little creep DIDN'T take a nap. She just layed there, defying me and proving her word. argh.)

"You are the potter, I am the clay..."

Lili made this in pre-school last week.
You mean you can't tell what it is?
I'm so disappointed in you.
Anyone can tell it's baby Jesus! c'mon......
As I was admiring Lili's first sculpture (and wondering why His face was blue), a thought occured to me. This caused me to bring to mind another baby I remember reading about.
Allow me to make some comparisons, if you will.
  • Lili was found in a cardboard (brown) box
  • Lili was wrapped in a blue blanket
  • Lili's complexion was slightly blue

Hmmmmm.......coincidence or some underlying suppressed memory?

OK, seriously, I know it's a coincidence, but I think it's pretty funny! :)

Things to Do During an Ice Storm

This is "Mama" with the "lon yeyow hai-yeh" (um, that's "long yellow hair"!)

This is titled "Lili and Mama"!
I swear to you, this is my proudest moment yet.
This is really the first time Lili has ever drawn a face with a head around it and hair.
I am so excited and proud.
I could cry!
(but of course she drew in yellow. Like the hardest color to actually show up on white paper!)
