Sweet Baby Liliana!

We finally got our Finding Ad today from Brian Stuy at www.research-china.org. Finding Ads are placed in newspapers as part of the process of abandoned children. They try to find the parents or relatives of the children. If no one comes forward, they become eligible for adoption.

This is Mei Xiu Yuan on 5/31/2003 at 54 days old (approx.)

I can't believe she's bald!! And those HUGE eyes!

Our Lili was the 1,149th baby listed in the paper in 2003. And it was only May.
In the first 6th months of 2003 there were 1,170 babies that had been listed in just this paper in Guangdong Province alone.
(yeah, and there's a "baby shortage" that's why China adoptions have slowed down so much!! sure.)

This is the translated Finding Ad.

Here are all the babies listed in this paper. Lili is #1149. (the 5th from the left, right before the yellow box)
Wonder what happened to all the others.........

We are SO glad to have this picture of her. This is probably the youngest picture we'll ever see of her.
It's so weird. It's like it's not even Lili.
Lili was never a baby!! She's just always been 4!!
So surreal.

Congratulations on getting Lili's finding ad. It's eye opening and so disturbing seeing all those babies posted in the newspaper. My husband really got "it" after seeing the newspaper. Give your little girl an extra hug today. Have a great weekend,

Kim K.
