More Interesting Information

This, to me, helps to answer the question: "Why wasn't Lili adopted before she was so old?" (and believe me, Jeff and I have asked that question ourselves)
The following information, I think, shows a reasonable explanation.

In 2004, really the first year Lili would've been eligible for international adoption (it takes over 6 months for the childrens' adoption paperwork/process to be completed), Wuchuan SWI had ZERO adoptions.
Then in 2005 and 2006 they only did a handful, and probably most of those children being adopted were infants (because that's where the demand is).
It'll be interesting to find out how many adoptions they did in 2007. It seems like there's a lot of people that have adopted from Wuchuan this year.

It also begs the question: "Why?"
Why did adoptions completely stop, only to begin again the next 2 years at about 10% of what they were?

It really doesn't matter, Lili's home. period. But somehow international adoption leads you to ask a lot of questions that you may never find the answers to.

Research-China: SWI - Wuchuan, Guangdong Province:
Adoption Stats:
2000 -- 80
2001 -- 183
2002 -- 212
2003 -- 267
2004 -- 0
2005 -- 20
2006 -- 32

I'm still amazed at how well Lili has appeared to adjust being an older adoptee. What a special Christmas you ALL will have this year.
