"I'm a people person!".....
My husband and I have been working on our autobiographies for our agency---the LAST bit of info. we need in order to send in our official application.
Our agency sent us a "simple guideline" to "help" us with our endeaver. FYI, if you really wanted to help, you'd just let us wing it!! Anyway, now we feel pressured to answer every question point by point in depth. Keep in mind, there are about 50 questions.
Now I know how every Miss America wannabe feels when they get that microphone stuck in their face during the "Interview Portion": they have like 30 seconds to be well spoken, charming, well informed, poised and most importantly "genuine".
How, oh how do you sell yourself without sounding like a pompous, arrogant fool? Maybe it's just me, but I've always had trouble tootin' my own horn.
So, for the purpose of my autobiography, I asked my husband what he thought my strengths were. He said "Uh, you cook really well and are good at all that woman stuff."..............thanks honey! (note to myself, re-think my answer that said hubby always boosts my ego!!)
To be fair, he is a great guy who shows me every day how much he loves me. I guess at that moment he just felt like "Miss Indiana" with the mic in his face!!
